| Welcome to the Millis Police Department Website. We are very pleased to provide you with access to information about the department and some insight into the services we provide. As the Chief of Police, I am very proud of the men and women of our department who have chosen to dedicate themselves to serving our community. Our goal is to provide the best possible law enforcement services by adhering to shared values that include Integrity, Accountability and Professionalism.
The Millis Police Department once again had a busy and productive year for 2007. Our ranks have increased by one officer, as Officer Kristopher Maxant graduated from the Police Academy in February 2007. He has been a welcome addition to our staff, and his presence on the department has allowed us some schedule flexibility. Officer Maraggio was assigned as the department’s full time traffic officer. Our staff, at the close of 2007, consisted of 3 Sergeants, 1 Detective, and 10 Patrolmen. These fourteen men and women provide the town with exceptional police service, around the clock, day after day.
The Police/Fire/EMS Dispatch center received a full renovation, thanks to voters at the 2007 Town Meeting. The staff and equipment was moved out to a trailer in the front lot, and the dispatch center was almost completely gutted. This project allowed us to modernize, reallocate space, and update to accommodate the new E-911 system installed by the Commonwealth during this renovation. There was some inconvenience and difficulties experienced during the process, but staff and the general public handled it well. At the time of publishing this report, the Communications Center should be fully operational, and all are invited to come in and tour the facility.
Our agency participated in regional collaborations in 2007 to enhance the delivery of police services throughout the region. The training that the officers receive while assigned to these inter-agency associations is well beyond what the
Town Of Millis could provide, and as a Department, the benefits far outweigh the costs.
For 2007, Millis officers participated with the Norfolk County Drug Task Force (NORPAC) and the Metropolitan Law Enforcement Council (METROLEC) and we have received very positive feedback on the contributions of the Millis Officers to these groups.

Law enforcement activities have been enhanced with several technological advances. Our Website is very typical of the impact technology has made on law enforcement, and I hope you find it informative. I welcome you to further explore our web site, and to contact the department should you have any questions, comments, or concerns. We are proud of our department, and proud of Millis.
